On Thursday 24th of August departs for Moscow, Iakovos Tofaris member of the International Relations Bureau of EDON, along with the president of the World Federation of Democratic Youth and member of Central Council of EDON Nicolas Papademetriou, in order to represent the National Preparatory Committee (NPC) of Cyprus to the International Organizational Committee (IOC) of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students which will take place from 14-22 of October in Sochi, Russia.
As the Central Council of EDON, we express our solidarity towards the people and the youth of Venezuela, who resist the imperialist hegemony of the United States, which, along with the local reaction, engages in continued attempts to stir up and destabilize the country.
The Central Council of EDON would like to convey its deepest condolences to our comrades in UJC, for the death of comrade Fidel Castro, leader of the Cuban revolution. It is indeed, a sad day for the people of Cuba and the people of the world.
The Youth and Student Organizations, decided to establish the Cyprus National Preparatory Committee for the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS), that will take place in Russia between the 14th and 22nd of October, 2017.
